Electro Kinetic Technologies offers an array of battery powered solutions for material and “people” handling. A couple products stood out: The motorized scissor cart and electric patient transport chair.
The motorized scissor cart is a cart made to transport loads up to 1000lbs. The unique thing about it is that the cart platform is a scissor lift. This allows the user to adjust the height of the cart to meet the height requirements of whatever he is sliding on the cart to retrieve or sliding off the cart to unload. The height range is 16”-43”. This height flexibility could minimize or eliminate the need of the worker to lift/carry items within that height range.
Other important functional features include variable speed control, automatic dynamic breaking, horn and emergency stop.
Breez Electric Patient Transport Chair
The Breez patient transport chair offers a solution for the difficulty that occurs when caregivers move a heavy patient in a wheelchair. The amount of push/pull force can be significant. The Breez is motorized version of a wheelchair. It has dimensions that are very similar to a standard bariatric wheelchair which keeps the footprint small and makes operation and navigation quite easy. The armrests are folding and removable. The footrests swing away and are removable. The hand controls are intuitive to use with the upper speed being programmable. The company does offer customization of the chair width to accommodate existing narrow doorways. It comes with a Oxygen tank holder and standard IV pole, however, there is an option to have an articulating IV pump/pole arm attachment.
