KED’s Organizational Self-Evaluation (“Quiz”)

This quiz is designed to provide an overview of organizational competency in regards to continuous improvement, ergonomics, efficiency, quality, safety and oneness of company vision.  Each question is answered either with a "yes" or "no".  "No's" indicator areas to improve.

 

1.      Do you have organization-wide improvement goals?

a.      If yes, is everyone aware of the goals?

b.      If yes, does everyone have the desire to work to those goals?

c.      If yes, does everyone have the knowledge to achieve those goals?

d.      If yes, does everyone have the ability to achieve those goals?

e.      If yes, do you have reinforcement strategies in place to sustain those goals?

2.      Does everyone know where the organization is right now (up/dow/sideways) to those goals?

3.      Does everyone know the importance of the goals to the organization as well as them personally?

4.      Do you have visual displays and methods for the goals and current status that is very public for all employees to see?

5.      Do you include these improvement goals as a key performance indicator in every manager’s/supervisor’s performance evaluation?

6.      Do you have a plan to develop and improve manager skills that supports continuous improvement and cross-organizational teamwork?

7.      Do you include these improvement goals as a key performance indicator in every employee’s performance evaluation?

a.      Are they effective?

9.      Do you have cross-organization improvement teams?

15.   Do you have a systematic, accepted, uniform problem-solving approach?

a.      Is it known and used by all within your organization?

16.   Do you know the average cycle time for all key processes?

a.      Do you know the trend?

b.      Are things getting better or worse?

17.   Do you know the average injury risk for all key tasks?

a.      Do you know the trend?

b.      Are things getting better or worse?

18.   Do you have organizational values that equally seeks to improve efficiency and safety?

19.   Do you have stated behavioral measures attached to those values?

20.   Do you have a formal, measureable method to know where you stand relative to others in your industry?  Your competition?
